UArt App

BRAND STRATEGY / VISUAL DESIGN / UX

Role:

Lead UX Designer

Project goal:

Design the UArt App that allows users to buy and sell art.

Target audience:

A primary user group identified through research was people from 25 to 75 years, with higher education, all gendered, and they shouldn’t be artists.

Research:

I conducted some interviews and created empathy maps to understand the user’s needs for whom I’m designing.

This user group confirmed initial assumptions about UArt customers, but the research revealed a few problems with the methodology of the app.

I could find some pain points as:

  • High costs (The prices of these services used to be very expensive.)
  • Accessibility (The target has to be always people with a high position in society. Always first class and with bigs amounts of money. In this case, we need to find a solution for most people who like art and can’t and don’t want to afford that high status.)
  • Ignorance(As it opaque environment, people think that art is something for the richest. But this is not true.)

Initial design concepts:

Wireframes:

Usability findings:

I conducted a round of susaility studies. Findings helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups, revealing the aspects that need refining.

FINDINGS:

  • Most of the participants understood how the app works.
  • 1 participant likes it, but is not 100% convinced, she is somewhat hesitant, but does not know how to specify either
  • 2 participants had a little confusion at the beginning clicking in Avant Garde instead of what we asked that was click on Surrealism.
