Project goal:

This project show the fusion between the predominant fashion style in the 60s among the models, known as Babydoll, and the drug that became «fashionable» in those years, LSD. Generating a fusion between fashion history, cultural studies and art.

Target audience:

  1. People who studying fashion history, cultural studies, and the impact of countercultural movements on art and fashion.
  2. People who enjoy culture, between 23 and 80 years old, who are into fashion, love retro 60s vibes and who enjoy psychedelia. 

Research:

  • Examining the emergence of the babydoll style in the 1960s and trace its origins and evolution.
  • Investigating about the impact of the LSD drug culture on fashion and art during this period, and look at any correlations between the two. 
  • Examining the intersection of fashion, art, and drug culture in countercultural movements of the 1960s, such as the hippie movement.
  • Conducting this research, I used a variety of sources: fashion and art magazines from the 1960s, archives of designers and artists from this period and historical photographs.

Developing creative concepts:

A fashion artworks that explores the intersection of the babydoll style, LSD, and pop culture, through the lens of contemporary fashion and beauty, including a psychedelic video that showcases the babydoll style and its connection to LSD and pop culture,.
